Role Overview

The Senior Technician role is offered as a full-time remote position responsible for advanced technical support in mining operations, projects, and maintenance endeavors. The position encompasses diagnosing and resolving complex equipment issues, conducting comprehensive inspections and tests of systems and machinery, and overseeing preventive and corrective maintenance activities to maintain safety, operational efficiency, and equipment reliability.

This role requires collaboration with engineering and operational teams, thorough documentation of technical observations, and recommendations to enhance processes, standards, and system performance. It also involves preparing technical reports, ensuring adherence to safety and regulatory guidelines, supporting the integration of new technologies, and mentoring junior technicians. Key attributes include proactive problem-solving, meticulous adherence to work instructions, and effective communication with stakeholders across different locations and functions.

Qualifications and Skills

• Expertise in troubleshooting and diagnosing complex industrial, mining, or heavy equipment systems.
• Hands-on experience with equipment inspection, preventive and corrective maintenance, and methods focused on reliability-centered repair.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and specifications, coupled with skills in drafting clear technical documentation and reports.
• Knowledge and application of safety protocols, risk assessments, and compliance with industrial regulations and standards.
• Proficiency in leveraging digital maintenance management tools, data collection software, and remote collaboration technologies.
• Preferably holds a technical diploma or degree in mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, or mining-related fields.
• Prior experience in large-scale mining or industrial operations, particularly in senior or lead technician roles, is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills, capacity to work autonomously in a remote environment, and aptitude for guiding and supporting junior staff.
