About the Role
Join the Department of Conservation as a Senior Strategy Analyst, offering expert strategic advice, performance reporting, and insightful analysis to assist executive decision-making. This permanent position, primarily based in Wellington with some flexibility, focuses on enhancing enterprise planning, strengthening performance frameworks, and identifying emerging trends to support organizational success.
Key Duties
- Lead and refine strategic planning, enterprise performance, and reporting processes continually.
- Analyze both internal and external trends to generate actionable insights fostering evidence-based decisions.
- Assist leaders and managers with performance data review and initiatives to drive improvements.
- Spot opportunities to boost organizational efficiency, effectiveness, and overall output.
- Offer technical guidance, leadership, and coaching while encouraging innovative best practices.
- Develop and sustain strong collaborations with internal teams, senior leadership, and external partners.
- Produce quality analysis, advice, and reports, actively managing risks, challenges, and potential opportunities.
- Ensure robust information governance and support knowledge-sharing to enhance organizational capability and results.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven background in strategy formulation, enterprise planning, strategic analysis, or performance management.
- Comprehensive understanding of performance systems, frameworks, and reporting methodologies.
- Experience translating organizational objectives into practical, enterprise-wide solutions.
- Academic or professional experience in economics or consulting roles is advantageous.
- Skilled in evaluating organizational performance and delivering insightful recommendations.
- Excellent skills in business writing, reporting, and delivering presentations.
- Competence in developing, deploying, and tracking systems, processes, and performance metrics.
- Possess a strategic outlook and capability to interpret broader organizational contexts.
- Inquisitive nature with a drive to uncover root causes and seize emergent possibilities.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving aptitude.
- High integrity, professionalism, attention to detail, and sound judgement with political awareness.
- Capacity to remain composed and resilient amid a changing environment.
Compensation and Benefits
