Role Overview
As a Senior Software Engineer focusing on the Banking sub-domain, you will architect, develop, and sustain complex integrations for top strategic partners across multiple platforms. Challenges vary from implementing embedded mobile experiences utilizing OAuth2 protocols to analyzing transactions for personalized user journeys, all within highly regulated and geographically complex environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and manage end-to-end integration solutions spanning backend services, batch pipelines, partner interfaces, and infrastructure as domain ownership requires.
- Leverage AI coding tools like Claude Code and Gemini to enhance productivity by creating prompt strategies and agent workflows that optimize development outputs.
- Lead the technical discovery phases for new partner onboarding by drafting architecture documents, defining integration approaches across services, and contributing to multiple codebases.
- Ensure production stability of partner integration touchpoints through alert triaging, failure investigation, escalation handling, and collaboration with platform teams for resolutions.
- Work closely with product managers, stakeholders, and partner engineers to translate shifting requirements into effective technical implementations, managing scope and escalating when needed.
- Produce and maintain comprehensive technical documentation including architecture blueprints, integration references, runbooks, and onboarding guides.
Qualifications and Experience
- 6 or more years of professional software development experience, including building and operating enterprise-grade production systems.
- Proficient with AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini), having integrated them into practical workflows rather than experiments.
- Strong software engineering skills focusing on Python-based web services, with additional experience in TypeScript preferred.
- Expertise in designing APIs and implementing bespoke third-party integrations, handling batch processing, file exchanges (S3), and event-driven architectures.
- Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure (AWS), containerization tools (Docker, Kubernetes), continuous integration/deployment pipelines, relational databases (PostgreSQL), NoSQL (MongoDB), and data modeling techniques.
- Comfortable working in ambiguous environments where requirements evolve through collaboration rather than fixed documentation.
- Excellent communication abilities, capable of creating technical documents and articulating architectural decisions clearly to diverse audiences.
Attributes and Professional Qualities
- Strong analytical and problem decomposition skills.
- Excellent interpersonal communication adaptable to technical and non-technical listeners.
- Team-oriented, effective in Agile development processes.
- Self-driven with a strong ownership mentality and accountability for deliverables.
- Agile in adapting to rapidly changing technologies and business priorities.
- Innovative use of AI tools as integral infrastructure components, continuously exploring new functionalities.
Compensation and Benefits
- Base salary range from CAD 135,000 to 175,000 annually.
- Flexible paid time off to support work-life balance.
- Employee stock options to participate in the company's growth and success.
- Engagement with social programs through CG Gives, fostering philanthropy and rewarding peer recognition.
- Inclusive and diverse work culture, actively promoting equality and eliminating discrimination or harassment of any kind.
