Senior Product Security Engineer

About the Role

Join Qualcomm as a Senior Product Security Engineer and play a pivotal role in safeguarding the next generation of technology products. Based in Cork, Ireland, you'll be responsible for ensuring the security integrity of hardware and software used in cutting-edge devices. This position is designed for experienced engineers who are passionate about applying security best practices, performing thorough product evaluations, and addressing potential vulnerabilities throughout the lifecycle of complex technology solutions.

Core Responsibilities

• Apply advanced knowledge of security principles to support critical engineering objectives and drive business outcomes.
• Innovate and enhance security features for both new and existing products to ensure comprehensive protection from inception through each phase of product development and launch.
• Conduct detailed security analysis, including vulnerability assessments, threat modeling, risk identification, and in-depth code reviews to proactively address potential weaknesses.
• Develop strategies and implement solutions to remediate product security risks, manage and resolve security incidents, and offer technical support to both internal stakeholders and customers regarding security matters.
• Create and provide internal tools and training that foster a secure-by-design culture throughout the organization.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in security engineering or a closely related area, or
• Master’s in a relevant field with at least 1 year of relevant experience, or
• PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or similar disciplines.
• Demonstrable expertise with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, Python, or System Verilog for at least 2 years.
• Proven track record in security engineering or equivalent experience, ideally 3+ years.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced degrees (Master’s, PhD) in fields such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.
• Experience in security engineering best practices and threat analysis methodologies.
