Role Overview

The Senior Manager of Technical Project Management plays a key role in driving important initiatives, overseeing both regional and global technical and non-technical projects, and contributing to the establishment of the future Global Operations Project and Portfolio Management Office. This leadership role requires premier expertise in managing complex projects and programs in a regulated medical device or diagnostics setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead complete project lifecycles, from initiation through deployment, managing one or two major initiatives or multiple medium to minor projects concurrently.
• Drive project and portfolio performance by implementing Danaher Business Systems tools such as Visual Project Management and Daily Management alongside Global OPS PMO standards and methodologies.
• Apply business insight to align solutions with project objectives effectively.
• Ensure projects adhere to defined scope, timeline, budget, and quality benchmarks.
• Foster a collaborative and problem-solving environment that encourages innovation and maintains excellence.
• Develop and present detailed progress updates, proposals, and documentation tailored for diverse audiences including project teams, sponsors, steering committees, and executives.
• Contribute to continuous refinement of project execution standards, portfolio management processes, and PM talent development initiatives.
• Mentor and guide junior project managers worldwide to ensure successful project realization and career progression within the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 14+ years in project management, or Master’s with 12+ years, or Doctorate with 9+ years experience.
• Extensive experience in medical device or diagnostics industries within regulated contexts such as manufacturing, R&D, supply chain, engineering, or logistics.
• Strong leadership in managing extensive and complex operations or R&D projects and teams.
• Certified or formally trained in project management methodologies.
• Proven capability in managing project portfolios.
• Successful track record with medium to large design changes and technology transfer projects in a medical or diagnostic regulated environment.
• Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to influence and build relationships across all organizational levels.
• Ability to mentor project managers of varying skill levels, make difficult personnel decisions, and build effective teams in a global, matrixed environment.
• Global business acumen and cultural sensitivity to effectively work and influence across diverse teams and functions worldwide.

Preferred Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma experience and/or certification as Kaizen leaders with demonstrated problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency in Power BI, Smartsheet, MIRO, Excel, and project management software tools.

Additional Information

This role is part of the Global Operations PMO & Strategy Team, based in County Clare, Ireland, requiring approximately 25% travel. Reporting is to the Director of Global Operations PMO and Strategy, overseeing the global project portfolio and team of project managers.
