Job Overview
The position focuses on predicting and planning product demand to ensure optimal inventory management that satisfies customer needs while balancing service levels and cost-efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Examine historical sales, market trends, and promotional impacts to produce precise demand forecasts.
- Work closely with sales, marketing, and category teams to integrate business insights into the demand planning process.
- Collaborate with the sales team to gather and verify forecast data in alignment with the Integrated Business Planning (IBP) schedule.
- Update forecast figures promptly within the system following the IBP calendar.
- Create and manage demand plans using ERP and forecasting software.
- Track forecast accuracy, analyze any discrepancies, and suggest necessary adjustments.
- Contribute demand-related data and perspectives for the monthly Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) sessions.
- Maintain and refine forecasting models for improved accuracy and reaction to changes.
- Effectively communicate forecast information and adjustments to supply chain and procurement teams.
- Guarantee the monthly forecast is accurately represented in the system.
- Engage in planning for launches of new products and promotional events to forecast demand adequately.
- Prepare routine reports and dashboards detailing demand patterns, forecast precision, and inventory levels.
- Help resolve issues related to demand-supply imbalances and stock availability through cross-team collaboration.
- Seek continuous advancements in forecasting methodologies and tools based on feedback and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Between 1 and 2 years of relevant experience in demand planning or supply chain roles.
- A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Statistics, or a closely related field.
