The Ottawa team is hiring an experienced Senior Buyer to strengthen procurement performance, manage supplier partnerships, and help ensure reliable supply across key commodities.
This role suits a procurement specialist with solid commercial judgement, strong negotiation capability, and a practical approach to managing risk, cost, and compliance. You will work with internal teams and suppliers to keep materials flowing, support new product work, and improve sourcing outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Purchase goods and services needed by the business.

- Raise purchase orders in line with company policies and procedures.
- Share material and supply status updates with internal stakeholders.
- Keep ERP records accurate and up to date.
- Plan and lead negotiation approaches and negotiations.
- Monitor commodities proactively to spot and reduce risks.
- Address supply issues such as delivery delays, pricing, process gaps, and invoice concerns.
- Support new product development activities.
- Contribute to source selection, make-or-buy analysis, and supplier qualification.
- Offer market insight to help reduce risk, cost, and lead times.
- Support or lead continuous improvement efforts when needed.
- Assist with customer or external compliance audits where required.
Qualifications and Requirements
The ideal candidate has around 10 years of relevant experience in supply chain, procurement, or a closely related field. A college diploma or university degree in a related discipline is required. The role calls for a strong understanding of procurement laws and regulations, plus excellent analytical and negotiation skills.
Work is structured by clear company standards, policies, processes, and procedures. The position is a hybrid arrangement combining home-based work with time in the Ottawa office. The schedule is 40 hours per week with flexibility inside core business hours. Occasional travel may be needed.
Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada and able to satisfy all security and controlled-goods requirements. This includes the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance, and additional access requirements may apply for technical data, classified areas, or regulated information.
