Role overview
Join the NUHS Research Office as part of the Knowledge Management Unit, where you will help drive research performance reporting, support dashboard development, and keep the research publication system running smoothly. The role centers on overseeing research performance indicators, especially publication-related data and strategic reporting, to support evidence-based decisions and highlight NUHS research achievements.
Research performance monitoring and analytics
- Create and roll out performance measures and evaluation methods for research in line with NUHS strategic objectives.
- Monitor, interpret, and present research metrics, with focus on bibliometric measures such as publication volume, citation impact, journal quartiles (including SJR and JIF), FWCI, and collaboration indicators.
- Build recurring and on-demand reports and dashboards for internal users and senior leadership.
Publications and bibliometric support
- Keep publication records up to date by working across internal platforms and external sources such as Scopus, Web of Science, and PubMed.
- Respond to questions about publication data, journal rankings, and bibliometric information.
- Maintain consistency and accuracy of data across the various systems used for research performance tracking.
Knowledge management and system support
- Administer and maintain research publication systems such as Symplectic Elements.
- Look for ways to improve data access, automate repetitive tasks, and simplify performance tracking through AI and RPA.
Institutional and strategic support
- Support the Total Performance Management (TPM) cycle by preparing and submitting research performance data on time.
- Help promote notable research outcomes by turning data into clear and compelling insights.
- Work with academic units, research offices, and institutional partners to compare performance and identify improvement opportunities.
Additional information
This is a 2-year contract position based onsite in Singapore, Singapore.
Requirements
- A strong Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Information Studies, Library Science, Business Analytics, Data Science, Science, Engineering, or Computer Science.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in research management, analytics, or bibliometrics in an academic, research, or healthcare environment.
- Comfort using analytical tools such as R, Python, Power Query, and SQL.
- Practical experience with visualization or business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Prior hands-on administration of Symplectic Elements or similar research information management systems is a strong advantage.
- Working knowledge of bibliometric databases and scholarly publishing platforms such as Scopus, InCites, SciVal, and Web of Science.
- Exposure to AI and RPA for improving data handling and decision-making workflows.
- Sharp analytical judgement, strong attention to detail, and good time management.
- Ability to work independently and learn quickly to complete tasks effectively.
- Excellent planning and organization skills, with the ability to balance several priorities in a busy environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach.
