Role Overview
The full-time Finance Manager position based in Auckland centers on managing BC Group's financial operations. Responsibilities include budgeting, forecasting, producing financial reports for strategic guidance, and ensuring adherence to accounting standards and regulations. Daily tasks involve overseeing cash flow, preparing management accounts and financial statements, managing accounts payable and receivable, as well as payroll and expense processing.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting to support management decisions.
- Monitor cash flow and maintain accurate management accounts and financial statements.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable functions efficiently.
- Oversee payroll procedures and expense management.
- Collaborate with company leadership to develop financial plans and analyze variances against budgets.
- Implement effective controls to protect company assets.
- Coordinate with external auditors and optimize financial systems and processes.
- Present financial information clearly to stakeholders without finance backgrounds.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong expertise in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting with the capacity to interpret data for actionable results.
- Proficient in financial reporting, management accounts, and compliance with accounting standards and local laws.
- Experience managing accounts payable, receivable, cash flow, and general ledger tasks in small to medium enterprises.
- Skilled in improving and maintaining financial controls, procedures, and systems, including knowledge of accounting software and ERP platforms.
- Possession of a relevant tertiary qualification in finance, accounting, or related fields; professional certification such as CA or CPA is advantageous.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities with keen attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills, able to articulate financial concepts to diverse audiences.
- Prior experience in construction, property, or compliance services sectors is desirable but not essential.
