Self Checkout Attendant

About the Role

Join Walmart Canada as a Self-Checkout Attendant and develop valuable skills in retail and customer service. This role focuses on delivering outstanding assistance at self-service checkout points, ensuring customers complete their purchases efficiently while enjoying a positive shopping environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness in the self-checkout zone by removing debris, clutter, and liquids.
• Instruct customers on proper and effective use of self-service checkout technology as needed.
• Encourage participation in sponsored programs such as credit card services, product protection plans, and charitable campaigns.
• Monitor customer activity to identify when assistance is necessary.
• Politely explain to customers the purpose of quality checks and self-service interventions, reassuring them that these measures are standard operating procedures.
• Understand procedures for responding to Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) alarms and accurately record incidents in the "Failure to Deactivate" log.
• Notify the Customer Service Manager in cases of technical difficulties or low cash supply in self-service areas.
• Ensure Scan & Go scanners are returned to their designated places after use.

Compensation

The starting pay rate for this position is $18 per hour.

Minimum Qualifications

• Applicants must be aged 16 years or older.
