Operating in over 500 cities across India, with partnerships spanning hundreds of thousands of restaurants and supported by more than 5000 employees as well as a vast network of over 200,000 independent delivery personnel, Swiggy ensures a swift, seamless delivery experience fueled by continuous innovation and extensive data processing. Since its inception in 2014 as a local food delivery service, it has evolved into the country's leading convenience platform.

Role Overview

The Sales Manager is responsible for acquiring and engaging single-outlet independent restaurants within a specified city. This role requires a consultative, field-based approach, serving as the main contact for restaurant partners to understand their business needs and facilitate their growth in orders, visibility, and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a designated geographical area, fostering strong relationships with restaurant partners.
  • Engage actively through in-person visits, providing product demonstrations, ROI analyses, and showcasing mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Utilize consultative sales techniques by assessing restaurants' current channels, delivery logistics, marketing investments, and business goals to recommend Swiggy’s solutions.
  • Oversee the entire partnership lifecycle including pitching, negotiating, activating, and offering ongoing support.
  • Analyze data to identify adoption patterns, diagnose growth obstacles, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective measures.
  • Take ownership of revenue targets within your territory, meticulously tracking pipeline and conversion metrics.
  • Diligently manage and update data using advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.
  • Conduct market research to stay informed about restaurant trends, competition, and local market conditions; relay field feedback to influence product strategy.
  • Conduct 80 to 90 in-person meetings with restaurant partners every month.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

  • Experience ranging from 0 to 2 years in B2B sales, field sales, or business development, preferably within fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), food and beverage, or hospitality sectors.
  • Proven history of achieving or surpassing sales targets and independently managing sales pipelines.
  • Proactive ownership of growth for the assigned restaurant portfolio, recognizing that the restaurant business operates round-the-clock.
  • High proficiency in data handling with capabilities to build pivot tables, use VLOOKUP, and develop dashboards in Excel or Google Sheets independently.
  • Post-graduate education, ideally in marketing or sales disciplines.

Additional Terms

Employees must be physically based at the location of their assigned office as per company mandate.
