Rest Area Attendant

Job Summary

This full-time position under general supervision involves upkeep and maintenance duties at a rest area facility to ensure a clean and well-maintained environment for visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain landscaping by mowing grass, trimming hedges, and watering flowers and shrubs daily.
• Perform routine cleaning and servicing of restrooms, sewage disposal, and water treatment systems.
• Keep the general area clean and orderly.
• Handle material tasks such as loading, unloading, and stacking supplies including salt, sand, cement, and chemicals.

Requirements

• Capability to comprehend and follow both oral and written instructions clearly.
• Familiarity with plumbing and electrical equipment operations.
• Proficiency in English to communicate with the public, interpret highway traffic signs, respond to official inquiries, and complete reports and records.
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Successful completion of a criminal background check to confirm employment eligibility.

Additional Information

This role does not require advanced theoretical or practical knowledge or a bachelor’s degree. It is not eligible for H-1B visa sponsorship. Job duties may be adapted or expanded based on departmental needs, and employment is at-will.
