Job Overview
This position involves conducting detailed analytical studies on various policies, projects, programs, and research initiatives to support organizational functions and new or evolving systems. The role includes assisting with planning, developing, managing, and implementing policies and programs while interpreting and analyzing information to provide consultative guidance to department administrators and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize professional and research skills to analyze data and systems related to moderately complex projects, policies, and initiatives.
- Collect, compile, and review analytical and factual data for assigned issues, preparing comprehensive reports and analyses for internal and external audiences.
- Prepare, revise, and edit research reports, manuscripts, presentations, and proposals.
- Gather subject matter information to support discussions and meetings with internal teams and external partners.
- Conduct project-based analytical research on various policies, initiatives, and programs.
- Provide diverse analytical support to research units, functions, and programs.
- Participate in the planning and development of administrative and research policies and program projects.
- Offer recommendations and guidelines related to programs and initiatives.
- Coordinate planning and collaboration efforts with program and project teams.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus at least one year of relevant experience, or equivalent training/experience.
- Familiarity with organizational or research-specific computer applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong discretion and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Good judgment in addressing issues and concerns.
- Capable of analyzing and synthesizing large data sets with attention to detail.
- Effective multitasking under tight deadlines.
- Knowledge of policy analysis methodologies.
- Proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software.
- Experience with policy research methods including outreach, recruitment, interviews, and qualitative and quantitative data assessment.
- Ability to engage sensitively with diverse cultural communities in community-based research.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in health care or social sciences (e.g., MPH, MS, MA).
- Experience or background in health equity.
- Familiarity with hospice, palliative, end-of-life, or grief-related care.
- Research or work experience in healthcare settings or health policy.
- Experience in community-engaged research or community organizations.
- Skilled in policy research analytical methods and software tools.
- Academic writing experience including manuscripts, white papers, research reports, and grant proposals.
- Background in program evaluation and improvement.
- Identifies with underrepresented groups and/or is fluent in Spanish.
