Quality Assurance Engineer

About the Role

Pure Billion Technologies seeks a meticulous and proactive Quality Assurance Engineer passionate about delivering superior software quality. This position involves overseeing the entire QA process, mentoring less experienced testers, and collaborating with developers, product managers, and stakeholders to ensure outstanding quality for web and mobile applications. You will be instrumental in formulating QA strategies, enhancing processes, and elevating the quality of robust enterprise products within a dynamic startup setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze business requirements, user stories, and technical specifications independently.
• Design, develop, and maintain detailed test plans, cases, and scenarios.
• Lead functional, regression, integration, and system testing activities.
• Execute end-to-end testing for web and mobile platforms.
• Conduct exploratory testing to reveal edge cases and usability concerns.
• Identify, document, prioritize, and track defects utilizing Jira or Azure DevOps.
• Collaborate with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
• Validate bug fixes and support release approval procedures.
• Enhance test coverage to uphold high quality standards.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Work jointly with cross-functional teams to refine QA processes and workflows.
• Serve as the QA lead contact for projects and features.
• Champion quality initiatives, best practices, and continuous improvements.
• Ensure compliance with QA standards, processes, and documentation requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2 to 3 years of experience in software testing, focusing on manual or hybrid approaches.
• Proven expertise in manual testing of web and mobile applications.
• Comprehensive understanding of test case design techniques, defect lifecycle, SDLC, and STLC.
• Practical experience implementing Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Proficiency in bug tracking tools such as Jira and Azure DevOps.
• Experience with API testing tools like Postman.
• Strong expertise in cross-browser and cross-device testing.
• Familiarity with modern technology stacks such as Flutter, Django, React.
• Hands-on experience in testing mobile apps on Android and iOS platforms.

Desirable Qualifications

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of test automation frameworks like Selenium, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Understanding of SQL for data validation and backend checks.
• Exposure to performance, security, and usability testing.
• Experience working within rapidly evolving startup environments.
