Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager

Overview

A prominent industrial supply company based in North Dublin is seeking a dedicated Purchasing and Supply Chain Manager to join on a permanent basis. The role represents a significant opportunity for a motivated and commercially focused professional to become a crucial part of one of Ireland's premier plumbing and heating manufacturing firms. As an essential member of the Operations leadership team, this position entails crafting and executing procurement strategies that secure supply continuity, enhance inventory management, reinforce supplier collaborations, and underpin ongoing expansion.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and cultivate the Purchasing & Supply Chain team by promoting a culture of excellence, accountability, ongoing improvement, and professional growth.
• Design and implement comprehensive purchasing and supply chain strategies to ensure seamless supply, optimize supplier effectiveness, manage inventory investment, working capital, and maintain superior customer service across all business units.
• Manage the company's demand planning and forecasting workflows, improving processes through detailed historical analysis, market trends, order book oversight, sales forecasting, and close cooperation with Sales teams and principal stakeholders across Ireland and the UK.
• Oversee the continuous adoption, refinement, and advancement of the AGR demand planning and inventory system to guarantee effective use throughout the organization and maximize the benefits of digital planning tools.
• Establish, lead, and integrate Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and Integrated Business Planning (IBP) frameworks to synchronize demand, supply, procurement, operations, and finance functions; thereby enhancing forecast precision, inventory optimization, capacity utilization, and customer satisfaction.

Candidate Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in a senior-level Purchasing, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management role within manufacturing, engineering, or distribution sectors.
• Proven expertise in strategic procurement, managing supplier relationships, optimizing inventory, demand planning, and overseeing supply chain performance.
• Strong practical knowledge of Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), demand forecasting, inventory control, and effective working capital management.
• Experience with ERP systems and advanced demand planning or inventory management software such as AGR, with involvement in implementation or adoption of digital planning solutions being highly advantageous.
