Role Summary

The Project Planner is responsible for developing and sustaining detailed project planning controls and accurate progress reporting for multiple concurrent projects, ensuring adherence to standards and client expectations.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Develop master baseline schedules using Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project following company procedures, industry norms, and client requirements.
• Establish schedule hierarchies to plan project delivery stages and effectively communicate these to project teams.
• Create distinct and integrated template schedules for Pre-construction, Construction, and Commissioning phases.
• Detail out schedules encompassing design, procurement, installation, and project close-out activities.
• Integrate trade contractors’ schedules into the overall company schedule hierarchy.
• Communicate scheduling and project controls information with project stakeholders, including the company, clients, design teams, and contractors.
• Manage progress reporting and incorporate updates into company-wide progress reports.
• Design and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and generate weekly/monthly dashboards and reports.
• Participate in the change management process by assessing impacts of changes on project timelines.
• Formulate and oversee commissioning programs along with developing commissioning KPIs and reporting frameworks.
• Prepare time impact analyses to support extension of time claims and evaluate such claims from trade contractors.
• Provide mentorship and training to less experienced staff members.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
• Prior experience as a Mechanical & Electrical Planner, preferably with exposure to high-end residential or commercial building services projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project is mandatory.
• Solid background in construction planning within Mechanical/Electrical Building Services contracting.
• Strong communication skills paired with meticulous attention to detail for report preparation.
• Adept at establishing positive relationships and engaging effectively with clients and stakeholders.
• Ability to operate independently while adhering to strict project schedules.
