Job description
Summary
The Project Engineer will support business development efforts and oversee the entire project lifecycle, from initial engagement through project completion. Managing at least ten simultaneous projects annually, the role demands maintaining technical excellence, client satisfaction, schedule adherence, and documentation standards in line with company and client expectations. This position requires hands-on expertise in online leak sealing, familiarity with Saudi Aramco, SABIC, ASME, and API standards, and strong multitasking skills across various projects and client interactions.
Responsibilities
- Assist in client meetings, site assessments, and technical discussions during business development phases.
- Analyze client scopes, specifications, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Draft technical proposals, method statements, execution plans, and support tender preparations.
- Estimate costs and allocate resources for field operations.
- Collaborate across Operations, Corporate Services, Procurement, Logistics, QHSE, and Finance teams.
- Identify project risks, assumptions, exclusions, and clarify tender requirements.
- Evaluate site conditions, equipment needs, manpower, and feasibility for execution.
- Maintain comprehensive records of tender submissions, client feedback, and business development progress.
- Create detailed project execution plans including mobilization schedules and daily production goals.
- Track project progress against plans, report deviations and cost impacts to leadership.
- Conduct kickoff meetings, internal handovers, progress updates, and oversee project closeouts.
- Manage scope changes with proper documentation prior to execution.
- Verify progress metrics, timesheets, service tickets, and invoicing prior to submission.
- Provide technical guidance to field supervisors and teams to ensure compliance and quality.
- Review and approve method statements, work procedures, and inspection needs.
- Perform site visits for quality assurance, safety, and technical compliance.
- Manage non-conformities, coordinate corrective actions with QHSE and Quality teams.
- Serve as the main technical liaison with clients, especially Saudi Aramco and SABIC representatives.
- Lead technical discussions, site meetings, and coordinate client inspections and maintenance teams.
- Prepare and manage comprehensive project documentation, reports, and audit support materials.
- Provide leadership and direction to team members; monitor performance and manage priorities.
Requirements
- Minimum Diploma in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering; Bachelor’s preferred.
- 7 to 10 years of relevant experience.
- Must demonstrate practical experience in online leak sealing and related industrial services.
- Experience with coating removal, surface preparation, mechanical clamp installation, industrial coating, inspection, and painting.
- Proficient in technical proposal writing, cost estimation, and tender support.
- Previously engaged with Saudi Aramco and SABIC strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent projects efficiently.
- Background in industrial, oil & gas, pipeline integrity, inspection, or field-service sectors.
- Fluent in English written and spoken, capable of producing professional technical documentation.
- Arabic language skills advantageous due to a preference for Saudi nationals.
- Strong communication skills to explain technical and operational aspects to diverse stakeholders.
