Project Director - Mega Projects

Role Overview

The Project Director will take charge of leading major multi-billion-dollar construction projects through every stage, from initial planning to final delivery. They will set strategic directions to ensure projects meet safety standards, budgets, schedules, contract terms, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide executive leadership for mega-scale construction projects, ensuring successful completion.
• Develop and apply strategic execution plans aligned with project goals.
• Lead diverse teams including construction, engineering, project controls, commercial, procurement, HSE, and QA/QC.
• Guarantee projects finish safely, timely, budget-compliant, and with high quality.
• Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and excellence.
• Manage financial aspects including budgets, cost controls, cash flow, and profitability monitoring.
• Review and approve procurement methods, subcontractor selections, and major contracts.
• Support contract claims, administration, and conflict resolution processes.
• Maintain robust relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, government bodies, and stakeholders.
• Act as the organization's representative in executive meetings and project assessments.
• Ensure transparent and effective communication among project participants.
• Identify risks and enforce mitigation related to timelines, costs, quality, safety, and contractual obligations.
• Ensure adherence to contracts, regulations, and company policies.
• Champion workplace health, safety, and quality initiatives.
• Oversee project scheduling, progress tracking, and performance evaluation.
• Analyze KPIs and drive continuous project improvements.
• Optimize manpower, equipment, and resources utilization.

Candidate Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering.
• Over 20 years of experience in construction industry.
• At least 10 years in senior leadership roles managing large projects.
• Proven success delivering complex, multi-billion-dollar mega projects from start to finish.
• Strong expertise in project execution, commercial oversight, contracting, planning, procurement, and risk management.
• Fluent in English and Arabic.
