Project Control Manager

Overview

Our client is looking for an experienced Infrastructure Controls Specialist to oversee the successful execution of large, complex capital programmes across various sectors such as energy, utilities, transport, telecoms, healthcare, housing, and water infrastructure. The role involves managing project controls throughout the entire project lifecycle to ensure timely, budget-compliant, and governance-aligned delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement comprehensive project controls frameworks encompassing scope, cost, schedule, risk, and performance management.
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, including critical path and resource allocation analysis.
• Track project budgets, forecast expenditures, analyze financial variances, and assist with financial reporting processes.
• Identify and evaluate programme risks and delivery challenges, proposing mitigation strategies.
• Support governance procedures and deliver transparent reporting to senior management and programme leadership.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure successful programme outcomes.
• Assist in bid preparation, project planning, and fostering continuous improvement efforts.
• Mentor junior team members and contribute to enhancing the project controls team's capabilities.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

• A degree in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years’ experience in project controls, programme management, or infrastructure delivery.
• Proven background in managing large-scale infrastructure or capital projects.
• Strong analytical skills paired with proficiency in reporting and problem-solving.
• Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management experience.
• Competency with project planning and controls tools such as Primavera P6, MS Project, Power BI, or equivalents.
• Familiarity with infrastructure delivery best practices, governance, and construction project lifecycles.
• Professional project management certifications like PMP or PRINCE2 are preferred.
