Job description
Role Overview
The Production Manager will oversee the entire production lifecycle, from initial planning and manufacturing to dispatch and after-sales support, ensuring stringent quality standards, cost control, and timely deliveries of industrial process machinery.
Core Duties
- Coordinate effectively with Design, Sales, Purchasing, and Stores departments to synchronize production objectives.
- Evaluate technical datasheets and confirm manufacturing drawings are approved and ready on schedule.
- Generate Material Requisition Notes (MRN) strictly based on approved blueprints and client validations.
- Plan and monitor production schedules to fulfill client delivery commitments.
- Decide on internal manufacturing versus external procurement based on capacity and cost efficiency.
- Select, onboard, and manage vendor relationships, tracking their production quality and progress.
- Ensure availability of raw materials through procurement collaboration to avoid production delays.
- Maintain superior product quality, finishing, and adherence to engineering specifications.
- Organize and lead client factory acceptance tests, inspections, machinery trials, and final dispatch preparations.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including master and as-built drawings, manuals, and quality reports.
- Support site installation, commissioning, and provide ongoing after-sales technical assistance.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Demonstrated experience in production or plant management, especially within heavy fabrication or industrial machinery sectors.
- Proficient in interpreting engineering drawings, manufacturing processes, and machining/welding standards.
- Strong skills in cross-department coordination, vendor management, negotiation, and project progress tracking.
- Educational background in Mechanical or Production Engineering (B.E., B.Tech, or Diploma).
