About the company
Karmo is Australia’s biggest car subscription provider, helping people access vehicles with more flexibility, convenience, and affordability. The business is focused on a smarter alternative to owning a car, where customers can switch vehicles as their needs change. The culture is collaborative and inclusive, with an emphasis on idea-sharing, development, and innovation.
Role overview
This position is responsible for the internal products and platforms that power Karmo’s day-to-day operations. Rather than simply launching features and moving on, the Product Manager is expected to treat each product as an evolving system that needs ongoing care, analysis, and improvement. The role is heavily focused on building for internal teams such as operators, PMs, Heads, and Directors, and requires strong influence, sound judgment, and confident collaboration with senior stakeholders.
Key responsibilities
- Take ownership of products from early discovery and validation through build, launch, and continuous improvement in production.
- Run discovery workshops and user research to challenge assumptions and turn ideas into a roadmap with measurable outcomes.
- Create strong user stories and acceptance criteria so engineering teams clearly understand the purpose behind each delivery item.
- Partner with PMs, Heads, Directors, and executives to keep product direction aligned with broader company goals.
- Work with operational teams to remove friction, support go-to-market activity, and help manage change during launches.
- Contribute to collaborative ideation and feedback sessions to refine ideas and identify the strongest solution.
- Manage the backlog with a sharp focus on value versus effort, while staying flexible enough to support broader company priorities when needed.
What you will bring
- 3 to 4 years of product management experience in a hands-on environment.
- Confidence working closely with senior stakeholders and balancing competing priorities professionally.
- Strong understanding of how business processes, data, systems, and platforms work together.
- Experience turning complex problems into PRDs, epics, and clear, actionable stories for delivery teams.
- Strong product judgment and the ability to shape messy inputs into a cohesive user and business solution.
- A low-ego, high-ownership approach that values collaboration, feedback, and team success.
Benefits
- Competitive annual salary package plus superannuation.
- Office located in Brisbane City, Queensland, less than a 10-minute walk from Brisbane Central Station.
- Paid parental leave and a family subscription discount.
- Hybrid working model with 3 days in the Brisbane office and the rest remote.
- Opportunity to own critical internal systems that have a major impact across the business.
- Highly collaborative, high-trust environment that values candid feedback and open debate.
- Direct exposure to senior leaders and domain experts, with strong opportunities for growth through influence.
