You will contribute to a new product development team by supporting product engineering pilots, resolving issues during debugging and production, and working closely with contract manufacturers. The role also includes support for new product introduction activities and requires a proactive, independent approach.
What You Will Do
- Support the conversion of product concepts into defined toys and products, including design assistance, project coordination, and technical problem-solving.
- Partner with upstream development teams to launch new or re-sourced products in OEM facilities.
- Lead debugging, pilot runs, and troubleshooting to help ensure quality, cost, and schedule targets are met.
- Improve process control and line efficiency while reducing scrap and protecting product quality.
- Spot opportunities for cost reduction and value improvement.
- Use manufacturing expertise in plastics, assembly, molding, and electronics integration to create scalable and reliable solutions.
- Contribute to value engineering and quality assurance efforts so products align with brand goals, safety requirements, and consumer expectations.
- Help deliver projects on time to support business objectives.
What Makes You a Good Fit
The ideal candidate has a degree in engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or a closely related area, or equivalent practical experience. At least 2 years of relevant work in product engineering, product development, or a related toys/consumer products role is expected.
You should be comfortable writing and speaking English clearly with a global team, and have a solid grasp of engineering fundamentals, product lifecycle stages, and quality assurance practices. Familiarity with plastic materials, tooling, decoration, molding, electronics, and assembly processes is important.
Experience with CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Creo, along with simulation tools, is preferred. A working understanding of FEA and the ability to interpret results is also valued.
Strong organization, multitasking, analytical thinking, problem-solving, listening, and influencing skills are needed, along with the ability to work across functions such as Design, Marketing, Engineering, Model Makers, Manufacturing, Finance, and Planning. Travel may be required internationally and regionally as needed.
