About the Role
KBR's National Security Solutions team delivers cutting-edge engineering and advanced technology services to clients in the intelligence and national security sectors, playing a critical role in protecting national security. Primary Responsibilities
- Negotiate supplier agreements, including favorable terms, volume discounts, and long-term contracts for procurement of necessary goods, services, and supplies.
- Manage purchasing activities to support both customer-related business processes and internal requirements.
- Address and resolve issues related to product defects and delivery discrepancies by working directly with suppliers and negotiating refund processes.
- Coordinate with various internal departments such as operations, maintenance, warehouse, and engineering to schedule and facilitate the timely movement of supplies and materials.
- Apply problem-solving skills and industry best practices to improve procurement processes and workflows.
- Mentor and provide guidance to less experienced team members as needed.
- Review and authorize supplier invoices in collaboration with the Accounts Payable team.
- Contribute to supplier performance evaluations to maintain high-quality supplier relationships.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident due to the handling of sensitive information.
- Typically requires a bachelor's degree combined with at least five years of relevant procurement experience.
- Comprehensive knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), North American Industry Classification System (NAICS), and procurement practices within government prime contracting.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently under general supervision in a fast-paced setting.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, adaptable to evolving priorities.
- Ability to foster professional relationships with colleagues, suppliers, and customers while upholding integrity, teamwork, and a positive work culture.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities focused on process enhancement.
- Familiarity with Contractor Purchasing System Review (CPSR) procedures.
Security Clearance
Candidates must either possess or be eligible to obtain a Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance or an Australian Top Secret/PV clearance. The U.S. clearance process may also require a polygraph exam.
Work Location and Conditions
This role is contingent upon contract award and requires full-time onsite presence at KBR’s facility located in Alice Springs, Northern Territory, spanning 4,400 acres with approximately 687,000 square feet of mission and support space.
