Principal, Strategy & Planning

We are seeking a Principal for Strategy & Planning who will help shape the company's long-term strategic direction and ensure execution of key initiatives aligned with ambitious growth targets.

Role Summary

This role supports the development and implementation of AIA Singapore's strategic plan by working closely with heads of departments to define priorities, monitor key performance indicators, and lead cross-functional projects. The goal is to drive proactive change and enable the Executive Committee to make informed, strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with division heads to establish strategic priorities, ensure quality and timely submission of plans, and prepare materials for Executive Committee reviews to communicate the strategic plan clearly.
• Lead selected high-impact strategic initiatives by coordinating cross-divisional taskforces, prioritizing key actions, managing change processes, and establishing governance with regular monitoring to achieve targeted outcomes.
• Provide comprehensive business performance analysis to facilitate meaningful discussions and the development of strategy by the Executive Committee.
• Track and report progress of major strategic projects as part of regular updates to senior leadership.
• Assist in preparing communications related to business performance highlights for various company events, results announcements, and staff or agency gatherings.
• Stay informed of industry trends, competitor movements, and emerging opportunities to influence topics discussed at strategic executive meetings.

Qualifications and Experience

• Degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, MBA, or related professional qualifications.
• At least 8 years of experience in financial management, strategic planning, or management consulting, preferably within fast-growing business environments.
• Strong expertise in financial concepts including budget and profitability management.
• Solid understanding of insurance business operations, especially non-financial areas such as distribution, marketing, product development, operations, or technology.
• Self-driven and proactive, able to work independently and collaboratively while maintaining high standards of excellence.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills across all organizational levels and external partners.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Familiarity with data analysis tools such as Tableau and SQL programming is desirable to extract actionable insights from data.
