Position Overview

We are looking for a seasoned and dependable School Bus Driver to join our primary and junior secondary school located in Mavoko, Athi-River. This role is live-in and demands a professional who prioritizes student safety and supports school functions diligently.

Key Responsibilities

Transport students securely to and from school along predetermined routes within scheduled times.
Operate school vehicles during authorized hours from 6 AM to 6 PM.
Perform comprehensive vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure functionality.
Maintain vehicle compliance with bi-annual NTSA safety inspections and ensure speed limiters are operational and connected to NTSA monitoring systems.
Assist with routine maintenance of school facilities and grounds.
Support various school events and administrative duties as necessary.
Respond promptly to emergencies as required.

Required Qualifications and Attributes

At least 5 years of experience in PSV driving.
Valid Kenyan driver's license alongside a PSV Driver's License Class D or E, applicable for large buses or specialized school transport.
Ability to communicate by reading and writing in English and Kiswahili.
A valid Certificate of Good Conduct (Police Clearance).
No record of dangerous driving offenses within the past two years.
Medical fitness certificate, to be secured post-employment, dated within the last six months.

Professional Competencies

Impeccable driving history with zero recent traffic violations.
Sound understanding of traffic rules and road safety protocols.
Preferably holds a First Aid certificate.
Prior experience with managing school transportation operations is desirable.
Basic mechanical knowledge for routine vehicle maintenance.
Capability to supervise children responsibly and attentively.

Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain reliability and punctuality.
Physically fit to manage emergency situations effectively.
