Role Overview
This position is for a Platform Engineer on a 12-month fixed term contract based in Sydney CBD, with hybrid working (2 days in office). The role involves contributing to a major technology overhaul for a reputable healthcare organisation, focusing on redesigning their cloud platform infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
As a key team member, you will design, build, and automate cloud infrastructure that supports critical healthcare services. You will work primarily on greenfield and platform modernisation projects using serverless and cloud-native technologies within AWS. Collaborating closely with software engineers, architects, and security professionals, you will enhance developer experience and advocate for best practices in platform engineering and DevOps.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain AWS cloud-native infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code.
- Implement and manage serverless technologies like AWS Lambda and API Gateway.
- Support application teams and drive automation throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
- Ensure secure, scalable, and highly available cloud platform services.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to enable efficient and reliable product releases while adhering to operational standards.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Extensive experience in platform engineering with AWS cloud environment.
- Proficient in Terraform for Infrastructure as Code development.
- Hands-on experience with serverless AWS components including Lambda and API Gateway.
- Strong knowledge of AWS core services such as IAM, VPC, S3, CloudWatch, and ECS.
- Familiarity with CI/CD systems and automation of deployment pipelines.
- Background working within DevOps or Platform Engineering teams.
- Proficiency with scripting or programming languages such as Python, Bash, or equivalent.
- Experience in healthcare or regulated industries, or a security-first engineering mindset, is advantageous but not mandatory.
