Role Summary

As part of the transformation and growth within the Home & LVT Business Unit, the company is seeking a Plant Manager to oversee the Konz industrial site in Germany. This site specializes in manufacturing residential vinyl flooring, focusing mainly on rolls. Operating in a challenging environment, the facility emphasizes process efficiency, product quality, operational excellence, and continuous enhancement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all site activities, including production, logistics, technical services, quality, health, safety and environment (HSE), human resources, finance control, and procurement.
  • Develop and implement a clear industrial vision aligned with the division and wider Group priorities.
  • Drive organizational, managerial, and industrial transformation initiatives at the site.
  • Foster a culture of performance, accountability, continuous improvement, and strong safety awareness among teams.
  • Oversee site leadership team, prioritize initiatives, monitor progress, and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Maintain regular, transparent communication across all levels including with division and Group leadership.
  • Ensure site objectives for safety, quality, cost, lead time, productivity, customer service, and environmental impact are achieved.
  • Monitor key performance indicators such as CPM, OEE, budget adherence, product quality, delivery timelines, safety metrics, and productivity.
  • Champion continuous improvement programs including World Class Manufacturing (WCM), Lean methodologies, safety enhancements, cost reductions, process stability, and flow optimization.
  • Enhance production and logistics process efficiency, consistency, and competitiveness sustainably.
  • Participate actively in Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning (SIOP) in collaboration with division and supply chain teams.
  • Manage the site’s financial performance by controlling costs, productivity, budgets, and competitive positioning.
  • Oversee budgeting, monthly and annual financial closings with finance control partners.
  • Prioritize and monitor capital expenditures and industrial investment projects.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of human, technical, and financial resources within the site.
  • Promote and enforce a robust safety culture, ensuring compliance with all applicable legal, regulatory, and internal standards related to safety, environment, quality, ethics, and compliance.
  • Manage audits from internal, external, customer, or regulatory bodies, and lead resolution of findings.
  • Develop and empower the site management team, adapting organizational structures to meet evolving performance and transformation goals.
  • Maintain constructive social dialogue with employee representatives and foster a positive social climate aiding transformation.
  • Lead talent development, including skill enhancement, leadership growth, and succession planning.
  • Represent the Konz site with all stakeholders including corporate divisions, customers, regulatory authorities, social partners, and community actors.
  • Communicate progress on objectives, projects, and key indicators clearly and regularly.
  • Act as an escalation point for critical operational, social, or strategic issues, managing exceptions effectively to ensure business continuity.

Candidate Profile

  • Holds an advanced degree in engineering, industrial production, supply chain management, or an equivalent field.
  • Proven track record as a Plant Manager, Site Director, or Operations Director within demanding industrial environments such as continuous manufacturing, materials, or flooring industries, with strong focus on safety, quality, cost control, and productivity.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities in team building, managerial empowerment, and driving transformation.
  • Experienced in driving sustainable improvements across safety, productivity, quality, cost management, lead times, social climate, and employee engagement.
  • Solid expertise in operational excellence techniques including Lean management, World Class Manufacturing, continuous improvement, KPI tracking, budget control, and CAPEX oversight.
  • Comfortable working in an international matrix organization with strong communication and social dialogue skills.
  • Proficient in both German and English languages; knowledge of French is advantageous.
