Role Overview
The Personal Support Worker fluent in Mandarin will hold a full-time, on-site position in Brampton, ON. Responsibilities include assisting clients with personal hygiene, dressing, toileting, mobility, and maintaining comfort and dignity. Additional duties involve meal preparation, light housekeeping, and running basic errands to support daily home living. The role requires vigilant observation and reporting of client condition changes, adherence to care plans, and collaboration with supervisors and care teams. Effective communication with clients and families in English and Mandarin is essential to clarify care requirements and provide emotional support and companionship.
Qualification Requirements
- Certification as a Personal Support Worker or equivalent healthcare aide training, coupled with home or long-term care experience.
- Fluency in both Mandarin and English for clear verbal interaction and proper documentation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, empathy, and the ability to establish trust with clients and families from diverse backgrounds.
- Reliable, punctual, capable of managing time efficiently, and attentive to following care directives and safety protocols.
- Physically capable of assisting with client transfers, mobility, and personal care tasks in home settings.
- Up-to-date CPR and First Aid certification along with knowledge of infection control practices.
- Valid driver's license or dependable transportation to visit client homes within Brampton and nearby areas.
- Successful completion of background checks and any other required health or licensing clearances to work in clients' homes.
