People & Performance Advisor

About the Role

We seek a seasoned People & Performance Advisor to join our operational business in Wanaka, Otago, New Zealand, serving as a trusted HR expert. In this role, you will collaborate closely with leaders across various departments, delivering expert Human Resources guidance and fostering positive employee outcomes within a complex operational context.

Key Responsibilities

• Offer comprehensive advice supporting all stages of the employee lifecycle.
• Handle complex employee relations cases, including investigations, disciplinary actions, and performance challenges.
• Coach and build leadership capabilities to confidently manage their teams.
• Assist with organisational change and workforce planning efforts.
• Collaborate with multiple stakeholders within a diverse, geographically dispersed, and operationally complex company.
• Provide guidance regarding New Zealand employment laws and immigration procedures.
• Analyze workforce trends, identify risks, and suggest opportunities to enhance business outcomes.

Candidate Profile

• Extensive HR or People & Performance advisory experience.
• Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships and influence a variety of stakeholders.
• Prior experience supporting leaders within large, complex, or multi-site operational environments.
• Strong expertise in employee relations, including handling investigations, disciplinary processes, performance management, and organizational changes.
• Deep understanding of New Zealand employment legislation and its practical applications.
• Knowledge of New Zealand immigration processes with management or advisory experience.
• Excellent communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
• Capability to balance multiple priorities while delivering practical and commercially sound solutions.
