Painter & General Maintenance Technician

Job Overview

The role of the Painter & General Maintenance Technician involves delivering top-quality painting finishes alongside essential property upkeep tasks within residential and hospitality settings in Dubai. This position requires proficiency in interior and exterior painting combined with diverse handyman responsibilities including plumbing, basic electrical repairs, carpentry, and appliance maintenance, to ensure the operational excellence and cleanliness of properties.

Main Duties

• Execute professional painting jobs including prepping surfaces, priming, plastering, drywall patching, and specialty finishing work.
• Perform routine plumbing repairs such as unclogging drains, replacing washers and faucets, fixing toilets, and addressing minor leaks.
• Carry out fundamental electrical maintenance tasks including repair of switches, outlets, lighting fixtures, and simple electrical troubleshooting, complying with safety protocols.
• Undertake carpentry and general property repairs like fixing doors, handles, hinges, cabinetry touch-ups, floor repairs, and furniture assembly.
• Assist with installation and maintenance of household appliances including washing machines, televisions, air conditioners, and guest facility amenities.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance issues reported by guests or staff to ensure quick resolution and maintain guest satisfaction.
• Conduct periodic inspections to identify and preemptively fix defects before guest arrivals.
• Keep toolkits and work areas clean, organized, and safe while meticulously logging maintenance activities and adhering to safety and regulatory standards.
• Support Housekeeping and Operations departments during busy periods or special operational requirements.
• Engage in cross-training and foster teamwork across departments.
• Carry out any additional operational tasks assigned by management.

Qualification Requirements

• At least 2 years of hands-on experience as a painter or maintenance technician, preferably within hospitality or residential property management sectors.
• Proficient in surface preparation, drywall repair, and painting methods.
• Solid practical knowledge in basic plumbing, light electrical work, carpentry, and appliance repairs.
• Familiarity with Dubai locations and navigation.
• Strong communication skills coupled with interpersonal abilities.
• Dependable, punctual, well-organized, and adaptable to varying shift schedules.
• Willingness to assist different departments and adapt to operational demands.
• Holding a valid UAE driving license is considered a plus.
