About the Role
The OTC (Order to Cash) Analyst position initially supports the Global Finance Transformation (FIT) team, which strives to redesign our processes and systems for increased efficiency and consistency across WMG's global operations.
Long term, incumbents will oversee daily activities related to accounts receivable, credit, collections, and cash application, while driving ongoing process enhancements within the order-to-cash cycle in a centralized setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist project teams pre-Go-Live by documenting processes and aiding transition efforts.
- Deliver financial order management support to supply chain and sales teams, monitoring credit risk, facilitating prompt payments, and resolving customer disputes.
- Manage deposits, research, and application of payments including checks, transactions, and credit cards.
- Ensure accurate payment collections, proper accrual calculations, and reliable cash forecasting.
- Support monthly account receivable closing activities such as general ledger preparation, adjustments, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
- Handle invoice requests and billing preparation.
- Address and post unidentified cash receipts promptly.
- Lead customer account collections, coordinate monthly balance discussions with labels.
- Evaluate customer accounts for delinquencies, ensuring escalation protocols and processing write-offs for uncollectable debts.
- Process credit notes, cash allocations, and collections diligently.
- Update provisioning for bad debts and manage customer inquiries and dispute resolutions.
- Execute dispute adjustments and balance write-offs as needed.
- Conduct revenue assurance procedures and perform accounts receivable queries, collaborating with business partners including label, publishing, tax, and legal teams.
- Maintain accurate credit and collection records and perform monthly portfolio analyses.
Candidate Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance, or related fields.
- A minimum of two years experience handling high-volume transactional accounting within financial ERP systems.
- Exposure to SAP, ERP platforms, and preferably S/4HANA.
- Basic knowledge of US GAAP, internal controls, indirect taxation, and service desk operations is advantageous.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to identifying process improvements.
- Capability to multi-task and prioritize efficiently in a deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills to succinctly influence and partner with stakeholders.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken; additional languages such as Japanese, Korean, or Mandarin are beneficial depending on the portfolio.
