About the Role
Snowy Hydro is a leading integrated energy company in Australia, operating a diverse portfolio including the Snowy Mountains Scheme, gas, diesel, wind, and solar generation assets. Supplying electricity and gas to approximately 1.5 million customers via Red Energy and Lumo Energy, Snowy Hydro continues to provide reliable energy solutions.
We are seeking a full-time Operations System Specialist to join our team to assist the Manager of Operations Systems. This position centers on maintaining and enhancing the operational work processes and systems crucial for safe and efficient infrastructure management. The specialist will provide technical system support, manage system configurations, oversee troubleshooting, and spearhead change management for relevant applications.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer functional operations of Electronic Permitting and Safety System (ePAS by Prometheus Group) and Outage Management System (OMS by PCI Energy Solutions), including related workflows.
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve any system issues or defects in collaboration with internal stakeholders and external vendors, escalating where necessary and ensuring master data remains consistent and accurate.
- Create and update business process documentation and training materials to promote standardized compliance across the organization.
- Lead system change management activities such as acceptance testing and validation during system updates or version changes.
- Regularly monitor, analyze, and report on key operational data, providing actionable recommendations for system or process improvements.
Location and Working Conditions
This position is primarily based in Cooma with a Monday to Friday schedule. The role supports hybrid work arrangements, requiring presence at least three days per week at the office or on-site. Relocation assistance is provided for candidates moving to Cooma. Other possible work locations include Snowy regional offices like Talbingo and Khancoban. The role also requires travel within all Snowy Hydro sites.
Candidate Profile
- Experienced in administering ePAS and/or OMS applications within heavy industry environments, preferably familiar with Prometheus Group and PCI Energy Solutions technologies.
- Proficient in web-based systems and knowledgeable about system integrations and their operational implications.
- Knowledge of work permit and plant outage management protocols.
- Strong communication skills, capable of conveying information clearly to varied audiences.
- Ability to manage simultaneous projects effectively, prioritize tasks independently, and adapt flexibly to changing demands.
- Committed to safety with familiarity in adhering to operational safety procedures.
- Possession of a Certificate III in Workplace Training and Assessment is advantageous.
