Role Overview
The company is seeking an enthusiastic Mechanical Apprentice to join its Tauranga-based Maintenance team. This role offers a valuable opportunity to earn while you learn, gaining hands-on experience in a large-scale manufacturing setting and working toward a qualification as a Maintenance Fitter.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with routine preventative and urgent breakdown maintenance on various plants and machinery.
- Support organized maintenance shutdown events.
- Develop skills in fault diagnosis and problem resolution.
- Keep comprehensive maintenance records using the MEX work order system.
- Ensure proper upkeep and storage of workshop tools and machinery.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols and actively promote a safety-first culture.
- Complete all apprenticeship educational components and apply knowledge practically on-site.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum educational level of NCEA Level 2 or preferably a pre-trade certificate.
- A genuine enthusiasm for mechanical engineering and maintenance work.
- An inclination towards hands-on problem-solving tasks.
- A strong sense of work ethic paired with a positive mindset.
- Effective communication skills and a team-oriented attitude.
- Adaptability, eagerness to learn, and resilience in the face of challenges.
- A safety-conscious approach to all duties.
