Role Summary

We are currently recruiting an experienced Manufacturing Head to lead the manufacturing operations at our Jejuri, Pune facility. This leadership role encompasses oversight of critical processes such as welding, fabrication, painting, and assembly of cranes and their components.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure comprehensive safety measures across the production floor and actively contribute to safety committee initiatives.
• Manage the audit system for shop floor and machinery safety, addressing any non-compliance swiftly.
• Engage proactively in worker welfare and development initiatives.
• Lead the implementation of 5S methodology and continuous improvement projects.
• Oversee Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management aligning with Konecranes' global standards.
• Promote HSE awareness within teams and ensure adherence to related safety protocols including ISO 14001 and 45001 standards.
• Coordinate the autonomous maintenance schedule in partnership with maintenance teams, troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues involving CNC Messer Plasma Cutting, Radial drilling, Shot blasting machines, ESAB Automation-SAW Welding, Boxing, and Welding machines.
• Ensure full compliance with legal requirements concerning worker welfare, work hours, and safety per the factories act.
• Plan and execute manufacturing operations in alignment with production schedules to meet sales targets.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks, optimizing workflows and conducting productivity enhancement initiatives.
• Implement quality control measures for all manufacturing stages; analyze quality data to drive process improvements.
• Represent manufacturing in ISO-related processes and manage manufacturing costs (P31 & P35).
• Develop and enforce Standard Operating Procedures for all manufacturing functions including steel intake, blasting, priming, cutting, fabrication, painting, and assembly.
• Monitor manufacturing labor hours versus budget and oversee labor relations within the factory.
• Ensure timely material availability from stores to production lines.
• Review and evaluate the manufacturing team's performance regularly.
• Maintain and monitor utility equipment such as paint booths, cranes (EOT, portal, jib), air compressors, hydras, stackers, air conditioners, forklifts, fire hydrant systems, sewage treatment plants, and DG sets.
• Lead strategic decisions on manufacturing versus outsourcing aligned with organizational goals.
• Foster strong worker engagement and welfare programs to ensure a healthy, collaborative work environment.
• Exemplify leadership in HSE through daily actions and initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering (BE/B.Tech).
• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing sectors, preferably in heavy engineering.
• In-depth knowledge of welding and fabrication techniques.
• Understanding of material properties and proficiency in TIG, MIG, and SAW welding processes.
• Familiarity with ISO 3834 and IEC 60974 standards.
• Experience with WPS, PQR, and WPQ specification and documentation processes.
