About the Role
TE Connectivity is looking for a Machine Shop Kitter to help keep machine shop operations running smoothly, safely, and efficiently. In this role, you will make sure the right components and tooling are selected, prepared, maintained, stored, and used correctly so that quality standards are met while costs remain under control.
You will work closely with supervisors and machinists, suggesting improvements to processes, standards, and safety practices. A key part of the job is keeping the work area tidy, well-organized, and aligned with TE Connectivity’s environmental, health, and safety expectations. The role also requires demonstrating the company’s values and behaviors consistently.
Key Responsibilities
- Help support the daily operation of the machine shop so performance targets and KPIs are achieved.
- Coordinate with managers and other departments whenever support or alignment is needed.
- Follow company rules, procedures, and internal policies at all times.
- Ensure health and safety requirements from company processes and applicable laws are met.
- Assist in training apprentices and staff who are developing their skills.
- Keep the shop floor clean, orderly, and safe in line with industrial standards and safety procedures.
- Order tools and equipment when required, confirm requirements, and track repairs, servicing, and maintenance.
- Manage inventory needs, build forecasts and reports, and maintain accurate control of tools and equipment.
- Carry out TEOA, KAIZEN, and 5S audit activities when needed.
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and the work area while applying 5S+1 and TPM practices.
- Handle other reasonable duties as assigned from time to time.
Experience and Background
The role requires at least 4 years of relevant experience in a machine shop. A high school education or an equivalent qualification is generally expected.
