Position Overview

We are looking for a motivated Machine Learning Engineer specializing in Computer Vision to join our AI Innovation team in Singapore. This role involves driving innovation in minimally invasive surgery by developing digital applications employing advanced machine learning and computer vision techniques. The candidate will work in a collaborative, fast-paced environment, partnering with cross-functional teams to create products that address current gaps in surgical technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop digital surgical applications utilizing machine learning and computer vision to assist during all stages of minimally invasive surgery.
• Collaborate with software engineers, UX designers, and product managers to deliver superior Digital Surgery products.
• Engage in the entire machine learning model development process—from research and development to deployment and ongoing monitoring.
• Leverage real-world clinical datasets to build, validate, and enhance machine learning models and computer vision algorithms.
• Work closely with surgeons and clinical stakeholders to gather insights and translate clinical needs into technical innovations.
• Contribute to creating new computer vision technologies to fulfill unmet surgical requirements.
• Maintain a customer-focused approach while operating effectively in a dynamic R&D setting.

Candidate Requirements

• A Master’s or PhD degree in Computer Science or a closely related discipline with a specialization in computer vision research.
• At least two years of professional experience in software development.
• Strong programming skills in Python.
• Proven experience in computer vision research and development, including areas like segmentation, image registration, object tracking, or three-dimensional reconstruction.
• Deep understanding of industry software engineering standards, including code quality, peer reviews, version control, build systems, testing, and deployment.
• Willingness to travel internationally up to 25% as required by business needs.
