Job description

Overview

The Logistics Coordinator at MAKEEN is responsible for supporting daily logistics and shipment activities to ensure timely execution of shipments, customs clearance, and documentation processes. This role aims to enhance logistics efficiency while acting as a connector between various internal departments and external vendors to guarantee precise and prompt delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage scheduling and documentation for both inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Coordinate with suppliers, transporters, and internal teams to expedite shipments and ensure on-schedule delivery.
  • Maintain communication with departments such as warehouse, production, procurement, sales, aftersales, MRO, finance, and IT to synchronize logistics actions and provide shipment status updates.
  • Keep meticulous records of logistics activities and shipments.
  • Adhere strictly to standard operating procedures and safety protocols within logistics processes.
  • Update logistics data within the IFS system and prepare basic operational reports.
  • Monitor shipment progress and communicate milestones to relevant teams.
  • Collaborate effectively with procurement, warehouse staff, and external service providers.
  • Support the resolution of typical logistics and delivery challenges.
  • Handle governmental shipment customs clearance applications such as SABER and FASAH.
  • Promptly inform the Logistics Manager of any shipment delays or exceptions.
  • Process customs duty exemption requests as necessary.
  • Manage the delivery of materials destined for secured government facilities.

Educational Qualification

A diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a closely related field is required.

Professional Experience and Skills

  • At least 5 years of experience in logistics and supply chain roles within manufacturing and maintenance sectors, especially in areas such as internal combustion engines, marine propulsion systems, power generation, or MRO operations.
  • Experience with logistics documentation including bills of lading, packing lists, and customs forms, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Proficient in logistics management software and ERP systems for data entry, tracking, and record management.
  • Basic understanding of inventory control and warehouse procedures.
  • Ability to comply with company guidelines and adaptability to evolving systems and regulations.
