Job description
Position Overview
Steel & Tube Holdings Ltd is seeking a practical and safety-focused Logistics Coordinator for the afternoon shift, based at our busy warehouse in East Tamaki, Auckland. This full-time permanent role operates from 4:00 PM to approximately 12:30 AM, centered on warehouse and dispatch activities to ensure smooth logistics operations.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with warehouse staff to load trucks using forklifts and overhead gantry cranes.
- Manage vehicle movements through loading bays while ensuring operational efficiency.
- Confirm all shipments are secure and comply with New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) safety standards.
- Prepare trucks for the following day's departures, coordinating with the dispatch team.
- Review daily run instructions and verify load completion accuracy.
- Conduct vehicle inspections and assist delivery operations as needed.
- Perform equipment maintenance and fulfill administrative duties, including paperwork, checklists, and logbook updates.
Candidate Profile
- Possession of a full Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record is mandatory.
- Counterbalance forklift license endorsement (for 2.5 to 5 tons) is advantageous.
- Prior experience in warehouse, loading, or transportation sectors.
- Certifications for operating gantry cranes or hydraulic loading equipment (Hiab) are highly preferred.
- Good physical fitness and keen attention to safety at all times.
- Strong communication abilities combined with a proactive and adaptable team-oriented mindset.
