About the Role

Join Star Construction LLC as a Locator where your main responsibility is to accurately identify and mark underground utilities using flags and paint. This critical role supports safe and efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities

Utilize detection tools to find and flag underground utility lines, with guidance from senior Locators when necessary
Interpret utility maps to accurately locate underground infrastructures
Maintain detailed records of all locates performed
Respond promptly and courteously to excavation notices
Communicate effectively with excavators, utility representatives, and staff members
Engage in light digging with a shovel as required
Work overtime, be available for travel, and handle on-call or after-hours duties as directed
Perform tasks in varying weather conditions

Candidate Requirements

Minimum age of 18 years
Legal authorization to work in the United States for this employer
Possess a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience
Hold a valid, non-provisional state driver's license with a suitable driving record

Physical Expectations

Frequently work independently in remote areas, involving actions such as raising arms above shoulder level, vehicle operation, fine hand coordination, bending, stooping, standing, walking, lifting up to 55 pounds, keyboard and mouse use
Occasionally use portable ladders, work within confined spaces, and climb stairs

Location

Primary site located in Cottendale, AL with remote work arrangements.
