Lifeguard

Position Summary

The role involves monitoring swimmers closely to ensure their safety by employing suitable rescue strategies when needed. Candidates will observe the pool area vigilantly to detect hazards, unsafe actions, or swimmers in distress. Upholding and promoting the facility's safety rules is essential. Lifeguards must recognize when guests are unfit or unsafe to participate in activities and report these concerns to supervisors. Assistance must be rendered to injured guests until professional medical help arrives. Creating an enjoyable and relaxed environment for guests is a priority.

Key Duties

• Handle towels responsibly by obtaining, folding, and stacking them as per company protocol.
• Maintain cleanliness of the pool deck through washing and mopping.
• Report any notable accidents, injuries, or unsafe work scenarios to management promptly.
• Complete required safety training and certifications regularly.
• Adhere to company policies, safeguarding confidential information and assets.
• Welcome all guests warmly, maintaining a professional appearance and addressing their service needs, including assisting individuals with disabilities.
• Communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team members.
• Respect and support coworkers, ensuring a collaborative and dignified workplace environment.
• Comply with all quality assurance standards and expectations.
• Conduct visual inspections of tools and equipment to identify defects.
• Physically respond as required, including walking, standing, running, and lifting (with capability to handle weights up to 50 pounds independently and assist with weights exceeding 75 pounds).
• Navigate safely across various surfaces, including uneven or slippery areas and stairs or ramps.
• Perform other reasonable tasks as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
• No prior work or supervisory experience necessary.

Mandatory Certifications

• CPR Certification
• First Aid Certification
• Mandatory local or state certification(s) where applicable.
