Role overview

The African Leadership University is seeking an inventive and forward-thinking Lead, Library Services & Digital Scholarship to join its Rwanda team. This position is designed for someone who can rethink the conventional library model for a modern, distributed university network.

The role sits at the crossroads of information science, instructional design, and digital transformation. The successful candidate will help build a future-ready digital literacy strategy and guide the university community toward strong use of open-source, digital, and AI-enabled tools.

What the role calls for

• A strong academic background in Library & Information Science, Knowledge Management, or a closely related discipline, with a master’s degree preferred.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in an academic, research, or corporate library environment.
• Advanced working knowledge of LMS platforms, digital asset management systems, and research/data analysis tools such as SPSS and NVivo.
• A startup-oriented approach marked by adaptability, creativity, and enthusiasm for mission-led education.
