Position Overview

We are seeking a Lead Hand to be stationed in Nova Scotia to perform janitorial duties ensuring clean and safe conditions in shopping malls and their surrounding areas. This role involves various physical, manual tasks and requires knowledge of cleaning practices and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out comprehensive janitorial and custodial work including mopping floors and cleaning walls.
• Engage in semi-skilled and skilled tasks across other trade areas as assigned.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment and supplies in accordance with standard practice.
• Apply appropriate use of chemicals while adhering to state and federal regulations.
• Handle disposal of hazardous materials and manage blood-borne pathogen safety protocols.

Required Qualifications

• Solid understanding of building cleaning methods, materials, and tools.
• Familiarity with safe handling and use of various chemicals compliant with regulatory standards.
• Knowledge of procedures for disposing hazardous substances and handling blood-borne pathogens safely.
