Laundry Attendant

Role Overview

This position is part of the housekeeping and laundry team at The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal. The role focuses on handling laundry and dry-cleaning processes efficiently while maintaining the luxury standards expected in a high-end hospitality environment.

Key Duties

• Run and oversee washing, dry-cleaning, and drying equipment, including the use of cleaning agents and removal of lint from traps.
• Check garments and linens for stains or damage and decide whether they need repair, spot treatment, another wash cycle, or disposal.
• Inspect items after laundering or dry cleaning and sort them into clean linen carts.
• Program dryers according to the fabric type, using the appropriate time and heat settings.
• Clear lint, debris, and residue from dryer screens, dry-cleaning filters, and drain traps after every load.
• Neatly fold cleaned articles to the required size by hand or with folding equipment.
• Keep precise records of all items processed through the laundry operation.

• Inspect tools, equipment, and machines for defects or issues.
• Be able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods or throughout the full shift.
• Handle lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, and placing items up to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Move through narrow, confined, elevated, uneven, slippery, and stair or ramp areas as needed.
• Reach above the head and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Carry out other reasonable duties assigned by supervisors.

Preferred Background

No high school diploma or GED-equivalent is required. Prior related work experience is not necessary, and no supervisory background or certification is needed.
