Laboratory Technician

Role Overview

This position is based onsite at a gas plant located in Longford, Victoria, engaged on a 12-month contract working Monday through Friday, five days a week. The Laboratory Technician will deliver precise and dependable analytical and scientific support to operational activities at the Longford facility, offshore sites, and other related business areas. Additionally, this role ensures external client laboratory operations adhere to the highest quality, safety, and integrity standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain samples from various on-premises and external locations.
• Perform laboratory tests and analyze samples accurately.
• Maintain laboratory cleanliness and perform routine equipment upkeep.
• Document findings by generating reports and managing records through computerized systems.
• Adhere strictly to company protocols regarding quality, safety, and ethical standards.
• Participate in initiatives aimed at improving laboratory procedures and operations.

Ideal Candidate Profile

• Possession of a Science degree is highly valued.
• Holding a valid driver's license is preferred.
• Proficient in computer skills, especially Microsoft Office suite.
• Excellent verbal and written communication as well as interpersonal abilities.
• Strong skills in analysis and problem resolution.
• Capable of working autonomously and prioritizing multiple duties simultaneously.
