Job Overview
We are seeking a Kubernetes Platform Engineer with a strong passion for Platform Engineering to join our onsite team in Munich, Bavaria, Germany. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining a Kubernetes platform that runs on a bare-metal infrastructure comprising over 85,000 CPU cores. You will play a critical role in automating and enhancing platform, build, and deployment processes using state-of-the-art CI/CD methodologies. Our platform supports more than 500 applications and serves over 42 million users, demanding high scalability and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and operate a Kubernetes-based platform on bare-metal infrastructure with extensive CPU resources.
- Automate and improve platform and deployment workflows utilizing modern continuous integration and delivery methods.
- Manage and upgrade cloud-native platform services that support a large user base and multiple applications.
- Create Kubernetes Operators and enrich the platform by integrating technologies such as service mesh, storage solutions, and GPU capabilities.
- Collaborate closely with seasoned engineers in platform and infrastructure domains and contribute to open-source projects.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or an equivalent field.
- Practical experience with Kubernetes in on-premises environments along with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code tools.
- Strong proficiency with Linux operating systems and familiarity with scripting or programming languages like Bash, Python, and/or Go.
- Comfortable using contemporary Git-based version control workflows.
- Enthusiasm for Platform Engineering, automation, observability, testing, and running large-scale distributed systems.
- Fluent English communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- A strong desire for continuous professional growth and technical skill enhancement.
