About Kepak Group

Their Bodmin site, Kepak St. Merryn, combines beef and lamb processing and packaging facilities, offering a complete range of beef products—from butcher-ready retail cuts to branded packaged meat. These products come from locally sourced farmers with open pasture rearing and the expertise of master butchers, assuring quality and integrity.
Role Overview
This is a permanent, full-time role based on-site at Bodmin, starting at 6:30 am with flexible finishing times. The hourly pay is £12.75. The role involves working within slaughtering operations, requiring precise preparation and cutting of meat, including specialized slaughtering tasks and producing standard or premium cuts suitable for marketing. The work focuses on preparing animals for human consumption.
Applicants must have their own transport due to location and limited public transit options.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and upkeep various machinery essential to the production workflow.
- Ensure product quality standards are maintained throughout the production line.
- Adhere strictly to safety protocols to maintain a safe working atmosphere.
- Perform routine checks of equipment and report faults promptly.
- Support packaging and labeling finished goods following company guidelines.
- Keep work areas clean and organized to meet hygiene and quality standards.
- Possess physical ability to lift weights and move independently during shifts.
- Understand the daily production plan; collaborate to set up lines, conduct checks, and prepare materials.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
Candidate Requirements
- Preferably experience in food production or a similar environment.
- Keen attention to detail with efficiency in a high-paced setting.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgement under pressure.
- Commitment and understanding of health and safety practices.
- Physical stamina to meet manual handling demands.
