Role overview
We are hiring a Junior Document Controller to support project and site teams with the handling of construction-related records. This role is suited to someone who is organized, precise, and comfortable working with document control processes in a construction or contracting environment.
The position is located in Musaffah, Abu Dhabi, UAE, within the construction/contracting industry. The offered pay is AED 3,500 to 4,500 per month, all inclusive, with the final amount depending on experience and qualifications.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the storage, control, and upkeep of project documents, drawings, correspondence, and technical paperwork.
- Handle document filing, tracking, circulation, and archiving according to internal procedures.
- Log and refresh records for incoming and outgoing documents, RFIs, material submittals, shop drawings, and approvals.
- Maintain accurate numbering, revision tracking, and records management standards.
- Work with project engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and clients on submissions and approvals.
- Compile document control reports and keep logs current.
- Locate, retrieve, and share documents when project teams need them.
- Protect the confidentiality, correctness, and easy retrieval of project records.
Requirements
- A diploma or bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
- Between 1 and 3 years of UAE experience as a document controller in the construction sector.
- Working knowledge of construction documentation such as RFIs, shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and project correspondence.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Exposure to document management systems will be considered an advantage.
- Well-developed organization skills and strong attention to detail.
- Good written and spoken English communication skills.
- Ability to manage tasks effectively within deadlines.
Location requirement
This role is based in Mussafah, Abu Dhabi. Candidates must be prepared to either move to Mussafah or a nearby area, or commute daily at their own cost. Company transport is not available.
