Junior BMS / ELV Engineer

Overview

The Junior BMS/ELV Engineer role is focused on supporting the design, coordination, and execution of Building Management Systems (BMS) and Extra Low Voltage (ELV) installations specifically for data center projects. Working closely under senior engineering supervision, this position offers structured training coupled with hands-on exposure to mission-critical building systems and digital infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with BMS and ELV system design and coordination tailored for critical data center environments.
• Contribute to development of concept, schematic, detailed design, tender, and construction documentation related to BMS and ELV systems.
• Create engineering drawings, layouts, single-line diagrams, schematics, riser diagrams, and equipment schedules utilizing AutoCAD and Revit.
• Support the drafting of BMS control philosophies, control schematics, point schedules, and network architectures under guidance from senior engineers.
• Collaborate with architectural, structural, mechanical, and electrical teams to ensure seamless integration of BMS and ELV components.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary design coordination meetings and help resolve design clashes using BIM coordination tools.
• Review consultant drawings, vendor submissions, and technical documents for adherence to project specifications.
• Assist in compiling equipment schedules, cable schedules, input/output lists, bills of quantities, and technical reports.
• Incorporate design updates, review feedback, and client requirements into project documentation accordingly.
• Maintain comprehensive project documentation, engineering calculations, and design records following company quality standards.
• Ensure compliance with applicable international standards, local regulatory requirements, and internal engineering protocols.
• Engage in ongoing technical training and professional development to boost engineering knowledge and proficiency with software tools.
• Keep abreast of emerging technologies, smart building innovations, digital engineering platforms, and industry best practices linked to BMS and ELV fields.
• Demonstrate an energetic approach, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to quality within project timelines.
• Adhere strictly to company Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) policies and procedures.
• Fulfill other responsibilities as assigned by Senior BMS/ELV Engineer, Design Manager, or Design Director.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics Engineering or a related field.
• Open to fresh graduates; 0 to 1-year experience in BMS, ELV, or building services engineering is desirable but not mandatory.
• Internship, academic projects, or exposure related to building systems or smart technologies considered advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of BMS and ELV engineering concepts and design methodologies.
• Familiar with engineering design workflows and multidisciplinary team coordination.
