Position Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated IT Systems Administrator to manage and support our IT infrastructure, cloud platforms, and office networks. This role involves providing technical assistance to staff, maintaining information security, and supporting data protection systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and troubleshoot hardware and operating systems across Mac, Windows, and Linux environments both remotely and onsite.
- Offer technical support to staff through multiple channels including email, phone, and remote tools.
- Resolve issues related to specialized end-user software and act as an IT resource for the organization.
- Administer cloud services such as Office 365 and Azure, including user support and systems management for backup solutions.
- Carry out regular maintenance on hardware, software, and network systems.
- Manage the onboarding and offboarding process for staff IT access and provide necessary training on IT tools, security, privacy, and general skills.
- Maintain an up-to-date inventory of technical assets, oversee software licensing, and assist with procurement processes.
- Support videoconferencing equipment and virtual collaboration platforms.
- Research and assess new technology to integrate within the existing IT framework, keeping abreast of industry developments and sharing insights with internal teams.
Qualifications and Skills
- Strong analytic and problem-solving capabilities to address complex technical challenges.
- Experienced in managing Microsoft Office 365, Exchange, and cross-platform OS including Mac OS X, Windows, and Linux.
- Proficient in cloud computing, identity and device management using tools such as JAMF and Intune, and network troubleshooting.
- Advanced understanding of information security protocols, database management, and compliance with data protection legislation, supported by relevant certifications like CompTIA Security+.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to maintain stationary positions such as sitting or standing for prolonged durations.
- Competency in operating standard office equipment including computers, keyboards, and telephony devices.
- Effective communication skills across face-to-face, phone, and written formats.
- Visual acuity for close and distant viewing and the ability to adjust focus.
Compensation and Benefits
This full-time position, based in Washington, DC, offers an annual salary of $87,700. The comprehensive benefits package includes health insurance, generous paid vacation, employer retirement contributions up to 7%, transportation subsidies, and additional perks.
