About the Role
An expanding and award-winning SaaS vendor is seeking an IT Director to join their team. This hybrid position requires presence in the Reading area office three days per week. The role focuses on ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of the company’s internal technology assets. It is a hands-on leadership position that involves maintaining system integrity, managing vendor partnerships, and participating in business project planning through technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise 2 direct reports while managing internal business systems such as CRM, Finance, Telephony, HR, and HubSpot, serving as a primary escalation contact when issues occur.
- Ensure the stability and security of IT infrastructure and internal systems including servers, networks, and cloud environments.
- Develop and update disaster recovery plans to safeguard operational continuity.
- Oversee relationships with technology vendors, managed service providers (MSPs), and partners, including monitoring service level agreements and renewal processes.
- Direct the internal helpdesk operations to deliver a positive and efficient service experience.
- Manage procurement, deployment, and lifecycle management of IT equipment and assets.
- Provide technical subject matter expertise for cross-functional initiatives by translating business requirements into technical solutions.
- Maintain information security controls and regulate access rights to ensure compliance with company policies and standards.
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years in a leadership, team lead, or senior technical role.
- At least 7 years’ experience in IT operations or infrastructure management.
- Proven experience managing infrastructure, security, and integrations within organizations using multiple internal systems.
- Strong technical expertise in API integrations, networking, server management, cloud infrastructure, IT security, helpdesk operations, and SaaS business platforms like CRM, telephony, and finance systems.
- Ability to function effectively in an SME environment (approximately 150-400 employees), such as a private equity-backed startup or scale-up.
- Experience working within a SaaS vendor company.
- Competence in managing external technology vendors, MSPs, and partner relationships.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate technical risks and solutions to non-technical leadership.
